Comments

Known from the middle Cumberland (mostly Caney Fork) and Tennessee River drainages in Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama; Kelley Creek (Coosa River system) in Alabama (Ref. 86798). Recorded from the upper Coosa River system of the Mobile Basin (Ref. 10294). Uncommon; extirpated from many areas due to alterations of springs (Ref. 5723, 86798). Considered endangered in Tennessee because of its fragile habitat (Ref. 10294).

Status of threat: vulnerable; status same as 1989. Criteria: 1 (http://fisc.er.usgs.gov/afs/) (Ref. 81264).
