Dominant ophidioid on the continental slope off the Middle Atlantic coast of the United States, with maximum abundance from 1,000 to 1,600 meters. Spawns seasonally, with maximum gonadal activity from June to September. Females at sexual maturity are larger than males and produce 12,800-45,400 eggs (Ref. 33456). |
