Also Ref. 33390, 45255. Records of this species off Sri Lanka were all recorded from Mulwal Harbor in Colombo by Phil Heemstra in 1969, and these were reportedly captured southwest of Sri Lanka near Wadge Bank, which is located off the southern tip of India. It is possible that M. mosis does not extend eastwards from the southern tip of India, and therefore not extending into the Bay of Bengal (Ref. 124465).
