Known from Perak (Sg. Perak and Lake Chenderoh) and Pahang (Kuala Tahan and Taman Negara). Largest species of cyprinids in Peninsular Malaysia. Perak population extirpated due to construction of Chenderoh dam in 1930 (Ref. 7429).
