Reported from Cape D'Aguilar (Ref. 33067); Sharp Island, Hoi Ha Wan, Tung Ping Chau (Ref. 94637); and Yan Chau Tong (Ref. 129329). Also reported from Mirs Bay, Tolo Channel, Tolo Harbour (Ref. 126271), and Sha Ha (Ref. 125515). Juveniles were recorded from Starfish Bay, Three Fathoms Cove, and Lai Chi Chong (Ref. 125536). The species was observed on 11 to 100 occasions during 400 dive surveys on artificial reefs (Ref. 119494). Sold in live fish markets (Ref. 125552). Considered as a common food fish in the 1910s (Ref. 128523). Also Ref. 119714, 125407, 125586.
