Type locality of Limia mandibularis, north bight of Lake Miragoane. This lake seems very isolated in terms of connectivity with other water bodies, no tributary river or stream found, but only mountain springs that lead to the lake. This lake was classified as an endorheic drainage. It was collected in a clear water path with slow current exiting the lake (water temperature 29.9 °C, conductivity 321 microS/cm on June 5th, 2019) and in an area characterized by the presence of muddy bottoms and some semi-submerged and submerged vegetation growing near the banks (Ref. 128734).
