Reported from 5-100 m depth. It has a specialized diet in the Canary Islands, both in size and species. The main prey item are teleosts and secondary cephalopods. The opportunistic character of this predator is reflected by the diversity of preys (Ref. 107710). It is the most frequent observed elasmobranch species by recreational divers and shows a strong seasonal pattern in sighting probability with a low when seawater temperatures reaches its maximum (above 22˚C) (Ref. 107711).
