Occurs in the Mekong basin. Found in Tonlé Sap, Pase Andor, Sékong at Stung Treng (Ref. 36654) and Great Lake (Ref. 33813). Below the Khone Falls, it undertakes lateral migrations followed by a longitudinal movement within the mainstream. At Stung Treng and Kandal Provinces, fish migration is reported to be affected by the lunar cycyle. Species returns to the river from the floodplain and tributaries on, or immediately before, the full moon (Ref. 37770). Sold fresh or put on ice for shipment to Thailand (Ref. 12693).
