Comments: Found in the European Black Sea watersheds and western Anatolian lake watersheds (Ref. 58342). Also Ref. 106151. In western Transcaucasia, it is known south to Batum (lakes in the Coruh river system). In northwestern Turkey, it is distributed in the lakes and rivers of the Sea of Marmara basin and the Black sea east to Yesilirmak (Ref. 33550). Threatened due to habitat loss, eutrophication/pollution and construction of weirs/dams in rivers (Ref. 58342). Status of threat: Near Threatened (Ref. 58342). EurTurk.
