Records from North Pacific (Alaska south to southern Baja California) refer to Squalus suckleyi (Ref. 85328). Misidentification in Ref. 247 (Northern Pacific population), 95107, 95148.

Squalus suckleyi (Girard, 1855) has been resurected by Ebert et al. (2010: Ref. 85328) in the North Pacific where it replaces Squalus acanthias Linnaeus, 1758.
