Comments: Widespread around the British Isles (15-528 m deep). Caught infrequently in beam trawl surveys. Maximum catch was >2,800 ind /hr, however 80% of positive catches were <10 ind/hr. Juveniles were recorded regularly from the North Sea and Celtic Sea, though their apparent absence from the English Channel and Irish Sea is probably due to sampling methodology. High catch rates of juveniles were reported from the Celtic Sea, off southwest Ireland and east of the Orkney Islands, however catch rate north of Ireland was based on low sampling effort. (Ref. 82399).
