Known from central Anatolian lake watersheds; Acıgöl Lake, Burdur (Ref. 106151). Threatened due to habitat loss, eutrophication/pollution, construction of weirs/dams in rivers, water abstraction and aquaculture/introduction/Lessepsian immigration. Proposed for Annexes II and IV of the EU Habitats Directive, as a priority species (Ref. 58342). Also Ref. 27139.
