Occurs in the Maeklong, Chao Phraya and Mekong rivers (Ref. 26336). Reported from below Nakon Sawan, near Sainat; also Pasak River, Pechabun (Phetchabun) (Ref. 1632); also from Phitsanulok, Chai Nat, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, and Phetchaburi (Ref. 37773). Captured from the wild for the ornamental fish trade (Ref. 6459). Threatened due to habitat loss and overfishing (Ref. 58784). Also Ref. 26580, 36654, 43281.
