Known from the Mekong, Chao Phraya, Maeklong and Peninsular Thailand river systems (Ref. 26336). Also found in the Lopburi River and Bangkok (Ref. 1632); also from Phrae, Phitsanulok, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Nong Khai, Chai Nat, Kanchanaburi and Surat Thani (Ref. 37773). Captured from the wild for the ornamental fish trade (Ref. 6459). Also Ref. 9648, 36654, 43281.
