Recorded from São Tomé Island based on (1) collection and photograph by DOP in Lagoa Azul, in a reef hole in 3 m (DOP - ICT 1000-2000, 1: 370 mm SL) and (2) photo taken by Peter Wirtz taken at Lagoa Azul in about 15 m, on rocky bottom (Ref. 34088). Misidentified as M. retifera in Ref. 34632 (Ref. 34088). Also Ref. 34498, 34503. In range Ref. 4450.
