Comments: Spawns in the rivers of Kamchatka, Sahkhalin (Tym River), the Commander and Shantarskie Is. and in rivers along the coasts of the Sea of Okhotsk (Ref. 26334). Occurs in the Anadyr River (Ref. 1998). This has been translocated to areas within the country for aquaculture and stocking in open waters. Etymology: Oncorhynchus: Greek, onyx, -ychos = nail + Greek, rhyngchos = snout (Ref. 45335);  kisutch: Most probably a typo in the emendada p720 for kisutch, which is the vernacular name of this fish in Kamtchatka (Ref. 1998).
