Specimens were collected from Lagu Lagu creek, Leyte in 1993 (Ref. 7223). Known from Lake Mainit, Mindanao (Ref. 4867, 13446) and Lake Taal (Ref. 80679, 13446). Recorded from Candaba Swamp and Pampanga River (Ref. 109918). Seldom a food fish. Museum specimens collected in 1983 from Laguna de Bay, east bay, LRS-83108 and in 1984, LRS-84142 (Ref. 13460). Collected from CLSU fish pond (Ref. 81820) and recorded from Pantabangan Dam, (Nueva Ecija) (Ref. 109918). Also Ref. 1739.
