According to Herre, Fowler 1918 (Ref. 2199) recorded the fish from the Philippine Islands with the specimen placed in the Philadelphia Commercial Museum. Occurs in freswater streams and rice paddies of the larger islands (Ref. 12748). Reported from Luzon (Ref. 26129).
