Specimens collected from Cagayan River, barrio Catayaoan, lallo, Cagayan Province were described by Herre and deposited in the collection of the Division of Fisheries of the Department of Agriculture and Commerce (Ref. 12789). Aparrius sabagensis Roxas & Blanco 1940 is probably a synonym of this species (Ref. 7442). Also Ref. 7050, 34009.
