Type locality of Vaimosa piapensis: Piapi Creek, Dumaguete, Negros Oriental (Ref. 43716). Specimens were collected in 1993 from Kiga creek and Ambacan River at Baybay, Leyte and Inuntan, Basey River, Samar (Ref. 7223); from Malabon, Manila; Capiz and Iloilo, Panay (Ref. 439); Lake Taal (Ref. 439, 12165, 13446, 80679). Reported from rivers in Luzon, Mindanao, Panay, Negros, Mindoro, Busuanga, and Sulu (Ref. 280). Also Ref. 94476.
