Type locality of Opistognathus dendriticus, Cuyo Is., Cuyo. Known from Palawan: Bararin Is., Cuyo I.; Coron, Busuanga Is.; Calamian Is., Buluang Bay; Puerto Princesa, Taganaya I., Chase Head, Tara I., and Honda Bay (Ref. 128653). Also Ref. 48613, 90102.
