In Lake Otjikoto, presently common only at the bottom of the lake, due to competition with two introduced species, Oreochromis mossambicus and Tilapia guinasana (Ref. 27829). Known from Okavango, Upper Zambezi, Kwando, Chobe, Lower Orange, and Interior (Ref. 33857). Also in Caprivi, South West Africa/Namibia (Ref. 37065). Translocated to Namibian interior (Ref. 52863).
