Type locality of Apogonichthys gracilis, Ternate, Molucca Islands (Ref. 48635) and of Rhabdamia clupeiformis Lamakera, Solor (Ref. 129520). Moluccas. Found from southwest Sumatra to Timor Sea (Ref. 5978; in range: Ref. 47567); including Flores. Also recorded from Raja Ampat Islands, Manado and vicinity, Sangalakki Island and Togean and Banggai Islands; with an Indonesian distribution from Papua to Sumatra (Ref. 47567). Museum: WAM P.28137-001 (TGT2283). Also Ref. 8631.
