Comments: Known from Assam, all along the Himalayas, Chota-Nagpur plateau and the Vindhya-Satpura Mountains of the Indian peninsula (Ref. 41236). Also found in Kedar Valley (Ref. 37082) and Maharashtra (Ref. 43634). Present in Nainital Lake (Ref. 89721), also in Buxa, Adma and Jayanti rivers (Ref. 89719). A highly valuable foodfish in the Himalaya (Ref. 4832). Also Ref. 45255. Status of threat: Vulnerable in Western Ghats (Ref. 50614).
