Reported from Tung Ping Chau (Ref. 119714); and from artificial reefs in Hoi Ha Wan (Ref. 119713). A school composed 20 to 30 individuals was seen in sandy, rubble, and muddy areas at Sharp Island, Shelter Island, and Bluff Island (Ref. 128523). The species was observed on 101 to 200 occasions during 400 dive surveys on artificial reefs (Ref. 119494). Sold in live fish markets. Commonly consumed in Hong Kong (Ref. 125589).
