Reported from Sharp Island, Hoi Ha Wan, and Tung Ping Chau (Ref. 94637). Also reported from Cape D'Aguilar and Yan Chau Tong (Ref. 129329). Common schooling species in eastern waters. A large school of adults was recorded on the entrance of a submarine cave in Conic Island (Ref. 125576). The species was observed on 11 to 100 occasions during 400 dive surveys on artificial reefs (Ref. 119494). Sold in live fish markets (Ref. 125552). Also Ref. 119714, 128523.
