Comments: Known from the Meuse (Maas) and Schelde basins but considered extinct since the 1940s (Ref. 59043). The 'Nordseeschnäpel' used to be an important commercial species entering the Rhine and Elbe rivers for spawning. Now largely extirpated and only locally important as 'Edelmaräne' (Ref. 27368).
