Comments: Known from the Lower Congo River basin, from just downstream of the mouth of the Inkisi River to Inga (Ref. 52248, 97099). Specimens from below Inga are L. markerti (Ref. 97099). Type locality of the holotype of Lamprologus tigripictilis: 'Congo River mainstream a few kilometers northeast of Kinganga' (Ref. 52248).
