Comments: Type locality of the holotype of D. teugelsi: 'Republic of Congo: Congo River basin: Léfini River, 3 km upstream of confluence with the Louna River, Réserve Naturelle Lésio-Louna, MRAC A4-46-P-0005 (holotype of Distichodus teugelsi, 4.96 cm SL, female'. Known from the Louna River (right bank tributary of the Léfini River) and the Komo River (right bank tributary of the Alima River), middle Congo River basin (Ref. 78699). Also Ref. 88782.
