Comments: Sympatric with Rhamdia saijaensis in Cajambre and San Juan Rivers (Pacific drainage, but R. guatemalensis is more abundant and has a wide altitudinal distribution (ranging from sea level to approximately 1000 m) and the main channel of rivers and streams, either with turbid waters and high sediment loads or with transparent waters and few nutrients (Ref. 108688).
