Comments: Occurs in the rapids of the middle rio Xingu and its main tributaries, the rio Iriri and rio Curuá in Pará state. The construction of hydroelectiirc dam Belo Monte modified part of the rapids of the rio Xingu. The impacts of this dam to the population of Leporinus torrenticola need to be assessed (Ref. 117595). Status of threat: Data Deficient (DD) (Ref. 117595).
