Comments: Rio Canoinhas, tributary of Rio Iguaçu near the bridge on highway BR 280 from Mafra to Itaiópolis, Canoinhas, Santa Catarina, MZUSP 105969 (holotype of Astyanax dissimilis, 6.28 cm Sl, male). It is known only from Iguaçu basin with wide distribution (Ref. 85756).
