Comments: Type locality of the holotype Diodon geometricus (Ref. 93017). Occurs in northeastern Brazil (Ref. 13608). Between 1995 and 2000, at least 10 specimens have been traded as aquarium fish at Fortaleza, Ceará (Ref. 49392).
