Comments: Type locality, north-west of Wessel Islands, Arafura Sea, Northern Territory, CSIRO H 3384-01 (holotype of Rhynchobatus palpebratus, 102.5 cm TL, adult male). Known from Northern Australia from Exmouth Gulf (Western Australia) to Cairns (Queensland), including throughout the Arafura Sea (Northern Territory) and Gulf of Carpentaria (Ref. 76954).
