Type locality, Tantabiddi Well, Yardie Creek Station, North West Cape, Western Australia, WAM P.4917 (holotype of Anomatophasma candidum) (Ref. 75154). The species appears to be extremely rare, but because of the inaccessible habitat, it might be more abundant than is commonly believed. Occurs in the northwestern subterranean systems. Reported from Bundera Sinkhole, Pilgramunna well, Milyering well, Kudamurra well, Wobiri rock hole, Kubura well, Gnamma hole and Mowbowra well (Ref. 44894). Also Ref. 48666.
