Recorded from Ennore estuary, Madras (Ref. 34530); Kerala (Ref. 43630); Western Ghats Rivers, Maharashtra (Ref. 43634); Moyar, Kallampalayam, Tamil Nadu (Ref. 44148); Tripura (Ref. 97593), and Chilka Lake (Ref. 29108). Present in Buxa, Adma and Jayanti rivers (Ref. 89719). Found in coastal waters, rivers and estuaries (Ref. 45255). Common in all water -logged areas (Ref. 97593).Type locality,Gangetic River region Gobius giuris (Ref. 75154). Also Ref. 41236, 45204, 87807.
