Short description Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-8; Anal soft rays: 9 - 10; Vertebrae: 31 - 32. Distinguished by the following autapomorphy: very large lateral process on base of fifth median anal-fin radial of adult males. Differs from Phallotorynus jucundus by having 7 or 8 dorsal-fin rays (vs. 9 or 10) and from P. fasciolatus by its color pattern with one spot (vs. spotless); from P. pankalos by its color pattern comprising of one spot (vs. six to nine spots). Differs from P. jucundus and P. victoriae by having 13 epipleural ribs (vs. 11 or 12); and differs further from P. victoriae by having 9 gonopodial rays vs. 8 (Ref. 56059).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5156   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01023 (0.00456 - 0.02295), b=3.13 (2.95 - 3.31), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.0   ±0.4 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
