Short description Morfología | Morfometría

Espinas dorsales (total): 0; Radios blandos dorsales (total): 13-21; Espinas anales 0; Radios blandos anales: 12 - 23. Body somewhat compressed but variable, from slender to moderately deep; total number of scutes 29 to 33. Vertical striae on scales not meeting at center, hind part of scales with a few perforations and somewhat produced posteriorly. A dark spot at dorsal fin origin. Lower gill rakers 41 to 68 (at 4 to 15 cm standard length, increasing a little with size of fish).
