The head is round, with large pigmented eyes, with a diameter of 0/27 mm. The body is surrounded by a thin fin fold, which begins immediately behind the head. The caudal blade is well developed. The pectoral fins are roundish, reaching the middle part of the abdominal area. The blood is colored red. The heart rate is 145-150 beats/minute (Ref. 34679).
Pigmentation: The pigmented row of melanophores is conspicuous on the ventral side of the caudal area. There are star-shaped melanophores on the peritoneum. The main distinctive trait of the larvae is the presence of a dark spot on the inner part of the pectoral fin base and the absence of pigmented cells on the head (Ref. 34679). |
