Comments: Congregates at the mouths of clear-water tributaries in April and may start upstream through channels cut in the ice by surface runoff (Ref. 28876). As soon as the streams open, the fish run upstream to the spawning ground, a run sometimes being a matter of more than 160 km. Spawning takes place from mid-May to June (Ref. 27547).
