Spawning observations were done in the laboratory. Fertilised eggs after spawning were deposited on the bottom of an aquarium lined with slightly moist peat moss. The substrate containing the eggs was placed in sealed bags and stored at 20-25°C room temperature. Eggs hatch in 3 to 5 months, even faster if the substrate is soaked in fresh water. Growth of fry is rapid, maturity comes after 4 to 5 weeks (Ref. 53985). |
