Spawning Cycles: (1/y)   Ref:
Comments: Gather in groups during spawning. Spawning generally takes place in shallow floodplains. The eggs are deposited on grassy substrate. In the sites where spawning takes place, the reheating of the water gives rise to the early development of the zooplankton which is the food of the alevins after hatching (Ref. 30578).
