Additional Characters Chorion surface with filaments and punctae (small spherical knobs) (Ref. 45896). Eggs are capable of prolonged latency as in other Fundulus species, but differs in that the eggs are deposited not in sand, mud, or water as in other species in this family but on the ground surface exposed to the atmosphere together with salt-marsh mosquito eggs (Ref. 45994).
