Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 300 - 700 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Morocco to Port Nolloth, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-17; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 12-13. Blackish to dark brown or brown in color, lighter below (Ref. 6631).
Biology:  Occurs on the upper slope (Ref. 11228). Feeds on crabs, shrimps, benthic copepods and polychaetes (Ref. 27637).
