Max. size:  5.51 cm SL (male/unsexed); 4.96 cm SL (female)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 18 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Indonesia nd the Philippines.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 66-70; Anal soft rays: 49-52; Vertebrae: 35-36. Description: Characterized by mottled light and dark brown; dorsal rays branched except first 4-15 rays; all anal rays branched; pectoral fins absent; lateral line of eyed side unbranched with 68-71 scales, including 7-8 anterior to upper end of gill opening; absence of caudal peduncle; ctenoid scales; tubular anterior nostril long, extending to anterior edge of eye when laid back; dense zone of pointed papillae on ocular side of snout before anterior nostril; posterior flap on ventroposterior end of operculum with long cirri; numerous cirri on membranous ridge of anterior dorsal and anal rays; depth of body 2.4-2.6 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Collected using rotenone, one site is a drop-off point with numerous small caves and some sand and rubble (Ref. 75879)..

Country info:  Paratypes collected from Dumaguete and Port Siyt, Negros and south of Hudson Beach, drop-off near point, with numerous small caves and some sand and rubble, Mactan Island, Cebu (Ref. 75879).
