Country info:  Restricted to the Asi Nehri/Orontes system. Also Ref. 106151. Very sensitive to human activities. There is severe decline of populations. Threats include habitat loss, eutrophication/pollution, construction of weirs/dams in rivers and water abstraction (Ref. 58342). Also Ref. 97573. Status of threat: Critically Endangered (Ref. 58342).
