Max. size:  46 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 580 - 960 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: Galapagos Islands and Chile.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 0-0. Snout narrow and long. Scute-like scales along the dorsal and anal fins usually with a single, sharply pointed keel. Row of enlarged scute-like scales along the base of the anal fin not reaching anus. Scales moderately embedded. Overall color is medium brown.
