Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
Max. size:  1.6 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: Florida Keys, Bahamas, Jamaica, Virgin Islands and Belize.
Diagnosis:  Small dark spots on head and body; side of belly has 2 squarish red spots bordered in white figure 8-shaped mark.
Biology:  Found in living coral colonies; one of several small fishes that lives among the tentacles of living corals (Ref. 26938).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 March 2010 Ref. (130435)
