Family:  Torpedinidae (Electric rays)
Max. size:  110 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 10 - 600 m
Distribution:  Southwest Atlantic: Argentina and Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Lives on the continental slope around 600 m in depth. Feeds primarily on fishes (Ref. 114953). Ovoviviparous (Ref. 50449). Maturity size of males at 62-67 cm TL; largest known specimens are females (Ref. 114953).
