Family:  Platycephalidae (Flatheads)
Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 20 - 200 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Mauritania to Angola.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in shallow coastal waters. Feeds on crustaceans and probably small fishes (Ref. 3658). Oviparous (Ref. 7359).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 17 June 2014 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
